Learn more about what sets us apart.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

We are not a group, nor a trading franchise, local expertise, trusted carers, flexible care plans.

CARE4U2DAY is a proudly family-owned, independent home care agency that was founded in 2012 by the Hayes family. Our approach is rooted in hands-on person-centred care, with a strong focus on promoting independence, dignity, and respect for every individual we support.

We offer tailored care services for both young adults and older individuals across Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, and the surrounding areas within a 10-mile radius.

In line with our commitment to expanding quality care, we plan to open a new branch in April 2026, located in Leighton Buzzard. This expansion will extend our coverage from Hemel Hempstead through to Leighton Buzzard and surrounding villages, thus allowing us to support even more individuals across a wider region.

We are a Company that believes in hands-on person-centered care, focusing on promoting independence and dignity for each individual we care for.

Is financial support available?

Information

If you or a loved one needs care at home, your local council may help cover the costs.

This begins with a care needs assessment, followed by a financial assessment (means test).

Funding is means-tested based on your income and assets:
Over £23,250: You’re expected to self-fund your care.

Between £14,250 and £23,250: You may receive partial funding and contribute from income and capital.

Below £14,250: You may qualify for full funding, contributing only from income.

Personal Budgets & Direct Payments

If eligible, you may receive a personal budget to spend on care services of your choice.

Direct payments allow you to manage your own care arrangements, offering flexibility.

NHS Continuing Healthcare

For individuals with complex medical needs, the NHS may fully fund care through Continuing Healthcare.

This is not means-tested and is based on having a “primary health need.”

Attendance Allowance

For those aged 65 and over, this non-means-tested benefit helps cover care costs due to illness or disability.

Paid at two rates depending on the level of support needed.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

For individuals under 65 with long-term health conditions or disabilities.

Helps with daily living and mobility needs. 4Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

For children and some adults who meet specific criteria.
Can help cover care-related expenses.

Private Funding

This agency accepts private clients (people who pay for their own care.)

You or your family would pay the agency directly using personal funds (savings, pension, etc.). Many care seekers begin with private funding while awaiting assessments or top up council-funded care with private payments.

Direct Payments

This agency accepts Direct Payments. If you receive money from the council or NHS to arrange care yourself (sometimes called a personal budget or pre-paid card), you can use it here.

Note: Direct Payments don't always cover the full cost of care; some people pay a top-up privately.

Local Authority Funded

This agency works with local councils to provide care.

If your care is arranged and paid for directly by your local authority (after a financial assessment), this agency may be one of the providers they use.

This often means you won't choose the agency yourself - the council will decide who delivers your care.

NHS Funded (CHC)

This agency is approved to provide care funded by the NHS. This is typically for people with complex health needs who qualify for NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) or need short-term care after a hospital stay (reablement).

If you're eligible, the NHS pays the agency directly.
